The Easiest Way You Will Ever Access LAX

Metro is currently studying different ways to access LAX because of the proposed Crenshaw Light Rail Line (LRT)

These studies are focused on bringing people into the terminal area either through a light rail train (LRT), or a through a "circulator" from an outlying area such as a people mover.

We propose that another alternative be studied.  In an outlying area of LAX pull your car up to a building where it is parked in a mechanical parking structure at the same spot that you board a personal transport vehicle (PTV).  This PTV would be a self-driven and take you right to your terminal.  It would navigate LAX using Google's autonomous driving mechanism and be programmed to drive you where you need to go.

And the personal transport vehicle would not look or feel like a car, more like a horizontal elevator that would navigate the roadways of LAX flawlessly.

This PVT method of accessing LAX can be a model for airports around the world that have traffic congestion issues.

A second proposal is a design for how the Green Line train could work inside LAX.  These are two ways that Metro is looking at to get the train inside LAX:

We would like to see the Green Line LAX station be incorporated into an open area below the Theme Building.

This design emphasizes the Theme Building because it carves a "bowl" into the ground below the Theme Building that echos the lines of the building and contains the train tracks and station.

In this design, with a Green Line train station located below the Theme Building, a system of walkways could be constructed that fan out to all the terminals.

These walkways not only echo the design of the Theme Building but provide a clear circulation system for the entire airport.
